The love Budapest deserves
Meet one of the most unique artists in our opening exhibition - Zsombor Barakonyi. One can easily find himself lost in the dream-like (and yet so realistic!) atmosphere of the urban landscape created by this Hungarian painter.
The artist presents urban themes in a graphic way, using his own technique called “box painting”. First, he captures the impressions of city life with a camera. Then, he projects the selected photograph on a wooden board and recreates it with paint and a variety of tools - blades, stencilled-masked surfaces, sprays and rubber rollers. Interestingly, instead of canvas as a base for his artworks, Barakonyi uses wooden boards, which makes his paintings even more extraordinary.
Don’t miss the chance to meet Zsombor Barakonyi in person on the opening night of GZI Arts Gallery!
